This Privacy Policy explains how TXT File Maker ("we", "us") handles information when you use txtfilemaker.online (the "Website").

1. Your text and files

Everything you type, paste or load into TXT File Maker is processed only inside your web browser. This includes your text, the file name you choose and any file you open. None of it is sent to our servers, and we have no way to see, collect or store it.

We also don't save your text in your browser. When you close or reload the page, it's gone unless you have downloaded it.

2. Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, our hosting provider may automatically record basic technical information when your browser requests a page. This can include your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the date and time. This information is used only to deliver the Website, keep it secure and fix problems. We don't use it to identify you or build a profile about you.

3. Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how the Website is used: for example, how many people visit, which pages they view, roughly where they are (country or city), which device and browser they use, and which website sent them to us. This helps us improve TXT File Maker.

Google Analytics uses cookies (such as _ga) and similar technologies to tell visits apart. It does not receive the text you write, the file names you choose or the files you open or download. Those never leave your device. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. You can learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Your choice: when you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or decline analytics cookies. If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, analytics cookies are only used after you click Accept. You can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage (this is not a cookie and contains nothing else). If you decline, we remove the Google Analytics cookies.

You can block these cookies in your browser settings, use a content blocker, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. TXT File Maker works exactly the same either way.

We don't use advertising networks or social media pixels.

4. When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use this only to reply and to improve TXT File Maker. We don't sell it, share it for marketing or add you to a mailing list. We delete messages when they are no longer needed.

5. Service providers

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the Website, such as our web hosting provider, Google Analytics (see section 3) and our email service. They only process information as needed to provide their services to us. We never sell personal information.

6. Security

The Website is served over a secure HTTPS connection. Because your text never leaves your device, it is never exposed to our servers or to anyone in between.

7. Children's privacy

TXT File Maker is a general-purpose tool and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you. In practice, the only personal information we may hold is email correspondence. To make a request, email us at the address below.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
